Finances & Insurance
Dr. Palioca's office accepts cash, personal checks, and Visa/MasterCard. We don't offer in-house financing, but we work with CareCredit, a trusted third party patient financing institution that offers low interest or long-term options for qualified applicants.
Insurance
We participate with BlueCross/BlueShield of MA and Delta Dental of MA. However, we accept all indemnity dental insurance.
We will gladly file your dental insurance claim as a courtesy, and we'll accept assignment of your benefits. This means you must assign benefits to us so that we can get reimbursed from your insurance carrier.
Please be aware that most policies don't cover all dental costs. We ask that you pay your deductible and estimated portion of your bill the day you're treated. Our team has experience with many insurance companies and policies, and we will estimate your benefits to the best of our ability. However, if we do not receive payment from your insurance provider within 30 days, or if the estimate was inaccurate, you will be responsible for the balance.
Did you know?
- Two million people had dental insurance in 1965. Today, more than 33 million people have dental insurance.
- Dental insurance is not like medical insurance. It often covers only 40 to 50-percent of necessary services.
- Dental insurance may not pay a percentage of the full price for a procedure. "Usual and customary" fees are not necessarily accurate in your area.
- In the 1960's, dental insurance paid about $1000 annually – and that number has not changed. Insurance companies still pay about $1000 annually per policy.
- Your insurance policy may not cover services that you and your dentist deem necessary. Be sure to read your policy to learn what will and will not be covered.
- We will complete and file your insurance paperwork for claims in our office. This is a courtesy we extend to make your life a little easier. Your policy is a contract between you and your employer.
- Your estimated coverage is just that – an estimate. We have a lot of experience with insurance companies, so reimbursement estimates are usually accurate. However, if your provider does not pay the estimated portion, we will adjust your balance accordingly. You are responsible for all charges you incur.
- We charge all patients equally, whether they have insurance coverage or not.
